Responsible for the fundamental organization of a system embodied in its components, their relationships to each other and to the environment, and the principles guiding its design and evolution.
Requires a previous domain of experience in areas other than applications development. Consults on overall enterprise systems design and the impact of various new technology initiatives. May provide technical expertise and leadership for cross-functional teams concerning data/applications/hardware interactions. Recommends tools, languages, and databases to be used. Follows enterprise standard to compile build plans for servers, storage, backups, databases, and network appliances

Served as “lead” designer on multiple projects; Significant experience in industry across multiple technologies (3+ years)
Deep knowledge of diverse technologies and new and current architectures
Lean/Agile development experience (3+ yrs) QA experience preferred

Excellent – strategic application of experience; Demonstrated experience leading and generating unique solutions within the financial services industry
3+ years architectural experience with COTS implementations
Outstanding negotiation, facilitation, and consensus building skills
Ability to effectively communicate across multiple levels (Executive Sponsors to team members); Ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical individuals
Other Skills
- Candidate must be a generalist with a strong understanding (but not limited to) of the following
TCP/IP communications including firewalls, switching, routing, load balancing, etc
Best practice application deployment, ie, 3 tier web apps, directory services, etc
Best practice use of DMZ mediation to provide security
A solid understanding of the deployment, proper use, and strong troubleshooting of the following (but not limited to)
• Windows 2000/2003
• RHEL Linux 4.x, 5.x
• HPUX
• VMware
- Candidate should have a basic understanding of database's and their proper use
- Candidate must have leadership qualities, with the ability to direct and lead several different teams on multiple projects in parallel
- Candidate must be comfortable working on many projects, all in different phases, all in parallel
- Candidate must have strong communication skills both oral and written
- Candidate must display strong design/documentation abilities with tools such MS Visio, MS Word, MS Excel
