Responsibilities:
• Perform day-to-day run-the-engine tasks to ensure that the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) is working appropriately and highly available to the customer base; and that any issues are being proactively resolved.
• Act as third level support within the incident management process for the VDI platform.
• Perform routine capacity planning and demand management for the VDI Platform.
• Perform all configuration management processes needed to stay compliant with client guidelines.
• Develop and work with management to implement training plans for the customer and WTS personnel.
• Develop and present business cases and returns on investment as required.
• Develop and present project plans, desktop budgets, or charter/scope as required
Requires previous experience with VMWare ACE, ThinApp, View and Citrix XenApp. Responsible for ensuring that capacity, demand, and operational support is performed on the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure within client.
5+ years of technical leadership on both traditional and virtual desktops.
5+ years of experience with a 20 to 40,000 desktop end point environment,.
3+ years of experience performing business as usual tasks on a VMWare Virtual Desktop infrastructure support 5000+ users.
5+ years of experience with Mobile OS, Macintosh, and Windows (Windows XP and Windows 7/8).
3+ years of experience with Citrix XenApp, VMWare ACE, VMWare Sphere, VMWare ThinApp, and VMWare View.
Communication - Ability to communicate capacity, demand, and other requirements as well as technical issues to cross functional groups and business customers.
Ability to influence multiple levels on highly technical issues and challenges
Demonstrated experience to influence and coordinate third parties and suppliers
