Business Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, internal Account Executives, Copywriters and Graphic Designers to help formulate marketing strategy
• Use Mac based prepress programs to create preliminary layouts of external marketing materials for eventual production.
• Lead conceptually within their assigned business group, and in collaboration with the Copywriter and Graphic Designer, create/direct all new marketing efforts in all applicable channels that persuasively communicate marketing objectives to the end consumer.
• Concept both with visuals and copy as well as generate headlines and edit copy. They will mentor, direct and supervise the work of Graphic Designers, outside creative vendors, act as the liaison to outside agencies and production services, and monitor the progress of their projects to ensure that the creative intent is not diluted or changed.
• Partner with the Brand Associate in interfacing directly with the Marketing and Analysis team.
• Be self -organized and manage multiple deadlines on numerous, concurrent projects.
• Have strong presentation skills, being able to communicate both tactically as well as strategically.
• Have expert knowledge both of the audience and category of their specific lines of business.
Experience:
4-year degree specializing in graphic design or similar discipline. Minimum of 8 years design and art direction experience. 4+ years direct mail highly preferred
Portfolio: Mid to High-budget print projects and campaigns involving supervising other designers. Demonstrates industry, conceptual and technical diversity. Likely to see unusual or unconventional formats. Brochures, videos, storyboards, ad comps, showing evidence of “thinking outside the box” while achieving goals.
Industry Knowledge:
Direct Mail experience required within any industry, financial preferred. Brings processes, technology or people solutions to the table with regard the design or print process. Proven ability to coach and challenge design team to improve the effectiveness of the direct mail piece.
