Instructional Designer/Dev-Sr - Richmond/VA

Level 1 +  Level 2 + End-to-end training project management. Candidate Submission Requirements: Training work samples such as manuals, job aids, facilitator guides, or story boards are preferred with submission. Please attach along with resume. Possesses a minimum 8 years of experience designing and developing training content, programs, curricula, and integrated projects; advanced degree in instructional design, adult education or related discipline preferred. Creates training strategies to address complex projects. Creates and implements complex training delivery plans. Integrates training plans with other related work streams in a project environment. Applies recognized instructional design methodologies for adult learning. Conducts needs assessments, identifying specific performance gaps and knowledge gaps. Writes effective learning objectives, content, and training/project plans at curricula/program level. Develops training material in support of multiple learning styles (visual, auditory, kinesthetic). Reflects the needs of international facilitators and learners when necessary. Exhibits sensitivity to cultural diversity in all content, simulations and activities. Balances recommendations specific to various instructional strategies and delivery methods with department standards and templates. Creates high-impact, real-world case studies, simulations and exercises. Works with subject matter experts to obtain content and to develop relevant case studies and exercises. Negotiates directly with clients and obtains client agreement and support for training programs. Facilitates meetings dealing with training projects with all levels of management. Manages relationships at all levels – especially skilled at setting expectations, providing clear, succinct updates, and identifying risks. Designs and develops training evaluation strategies using Kirkpatrick Levels 1 to 4; ability to clearly articulate ROI and business impact of training programs. Implements training evaluation strategies and reporting mechanisms, as needed. Manages training projects end-to-end using core elements of Project Management Methodology. Integrates training plans with other related work streams in a project environment. Furthermore, candidates are expected to: Quickly learn the business structure. Manage training projects from end to end with no appreciable direction. Establish milestones associated with specific projects; meet deadlines. Provide solutions to a variety of problems of expansive scope and great complexity. Demonstrate advanced communication skills, both verbal and written. Proactively share progress, risks, and recommendations while seeking guidance / direction / approval as necessary. Demonstrate a high level of proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint.
