Performance Engineer:
The candidate will be responsible for reviewing distributed application architectures, ascertaining application performance requirements, developing performance testing strategies, completing test results analysis, diagnose performance bottlenecks, conduct performance tuning, and leading the testing of performance benchmarks .
You will work closely with applications subject matter experts, performance testers, and infrastructure experts on ensuring the performance of multiple internal and customer facing systems. As a Software Performance Engineer you have a very good understanding of software development and the software testing lifecycle, as well as experience in applying software testing techniques, processes, and tools.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ascertaining performance & scalability requirements
Conduct performance prototyping. Support development design decisions by testing early deliverables and providing analyzed feedback
Conduct performance tuning in different categories: network, system, platform and application
Support the development of testing artifacts (load models, scripts, monitors, scenarios, etc…)
Partner with a Load Runner tester to execute performance tests (Load, Stress, Scalability, endurance, etc…), analyze test results, and provide recommendations
Diagnose complicated performance issues and develop recommendations
Interface with customers for onsite performance optimization
Related experience
Experience with multiple web technologies (weblogic, Aqualogic, .Net, Apache, etc…)
Experience with multiple database technologies (SQL, Oracle, DB2, etc…)
2-3 years prior application development experience
2-3 years prior application support experience
Knowledge of common application infrastructure components
Demonstrated experience with large scale application integration efforts
Communication - Ability to communicate strategies and processes around performance assessments and architecture to cross functional groups and senior levels
Ability to influence multiple levels on highly technical issues and challenges
Demonstrated experience to influence and coordinate third parties and suppliers
